Q: Which aspects of CareTech are you most passionate about and why?
Matt: The huge potential for championing an enhanced use of digital technology to improve the delivery of new and existing healthcare services in Jersey, improving efficiency and accuracy and, as a result, improving patient health outcomes.
Q: What do you think are the biggest challenges and opportunities for today’s care sector?
Matt:
- Funding – in part due to the growing ageing demographic. Healthcare access should also be fair for all.
- Rising costs – The health sector has to evolve to become more efficient in its delivery of its services to offset growing costs while improving services and outcomes. Improving integration of technology will go far to assisting this.
- Workforce and recruitment – another aspect that draws on the need for improvements in health system efficiency.
- It is critical we vastly improve our focus on preventative care rather than reactive care to develop a sustainable future for healthcare for all. Drive a vision for early investment in healthcare to reduce long term costs and improve patient health journey and maintaining patient wellness for longer.
Q: What benefits do you hope that CareTech will bring to Jersey?
Matt: Inspiration, collaboration and great people. Jersey needs all 3.
