Why This Matters for Jersey

The Innovation Programme exists to help solve Jersey’s biggest challenges, by funding ideas that deliver real impact across the eight Island Priorities.

Whether it’s improving productivity in core sectors, supporting new industries, or helping islanders live healthier, more sustainable lives, the programme backs technology-led solutions that make a measurable difference.

From smarter transport and digital health tools to climate resilience and economic innovation, every funded project must show how it helps Jersey move forward. That means better outcomes for our economy, our environment, and our community.

It’s not just about innovation, it’s about solving problems that matter to Jersey.

Innovation Programme FAQs

We welcome innovators from Jersey and around the world to apply. However, due to current restrictions, the programme cannot fund any activities involving entities under sanctions—specifically those linked to Russia or Belarus.

As sanctions guidance changes, the programme’s funding rules will be updated to stay compliant with the latest legal advice.

No, the lead applicant can only make one application.

The programme offers three funding tiers, with a total grant budget of £500K per quarter. The appropriate tier depends on the scale and ambition of your proposal.

  • Tier One is for projects requiring less than a £100K in funding.
  • Tier Two is for projects who funding is between £100K and £500K.
  • Tier Three is for projects who funding exceeds £500K.

Yes, In the scenario that an application comes back for further funding in a higher tier, the project may be assessed on a smaller set of criteria.

If you are applying as a company or individual not registered as a non-profit or charity, your proposal will include a match funding component to strengthen its case for support.

What to include: You are encouraged to suggest a match funding approach in your application. This can be refined during later discussions with the Impact Jersey team.

How it works: The match funding percentage (up to 50%) will be determined based on:

  1. The total funding requested
  2. The anticipated impact of your project on the island

Applicants can access tailored support including 1:1 advice at the monthly clinics. The programme is designed to be flexible and responsive to applicant needs. Please note that applicants project eligibility must be approved before being invited to the co-design clinics.

Applications will be evaluated based on eligibility, alignment with island priorities, potential for impact, and the strength of the delivery plan. Full assessment criteria are detailed in the application guidelines.
